Multiple Accounts and different desktop enviroments

I have been using Ubuntu and different Linux Distro's, My favorites are Mint Cinnamon and Ubuntu Gnome DE. Now I know it's possible to have multiple accounts/users, is it possible for each person to have a different desktop environment for a default. As to avoid the "oh I have to change the desktop environment before I log in".

Additional or different desktop environments would have to be selected in the login screen regardless of user name . If user Joe was setup on gnome then Joe needs to select gnome during login and that would be his default. User Joe could also have an account in cinnamon, but the login screen still comes into play to select the cinnamon DE.
