I've got a thinkpad T61 running 18.10 (upgrading to 19.04 now actually).

When I run weston, the performance there is very nice. smooth movements etc. Running ubuntu-wayland though performance is pretty sluggish. It almost feels as if everything is running in x-wayland with no native wayland bits. Not sure how to check this.

Though this is an aging maching, it does everything I want quite well. Unfortunately the window movements and transitions etc are pretty ugly from the low frame rate. If I could cure this then I could get another year or two out of this old workhorse.
