View Full Version : [ubuntu] Is there seriously no way to retrieve stuff after using live dvd??

I boobed and forgot I was using the live disc.
So, as per the title, is there absolutely no way to get back some browsing history and tabs that I was using when the electricity went off?? :roll:

AFIK there is no data saved from a live session unless using persistent (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LiveUsbPendrivePersistent) USB installation.

Ok, thanx for that FH.
As you can tell I kind of knew it already but was hoping that I didn't know enough. Hmm, I'll probably try the 'persistent' USB method next time

Think the only help would be if you were signed in on the browser and it sync up. The only other way is if you are interesting enough to have GCHQ interested in you, you could phone them up and see if they have your history. In future you can try to make a USB with persistence, that will save some stuff.
