Hi. I want to install Ubuntu on my laptop, but I'm having troubles doing it. When I'm trying to install it, it shows this error: 282894 The way I'm trying to do a bootable device is with rufus. In the configuration, I use MBR with BIOS or UEFI, and FAT32. I'm a little bit desperate, because I've tried a lot of things, even trying to install other distributions, but it is impossible. Please, I need help.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Please try to provide as much information as possible to help us help you.

1. Is BIOS set to boot from USB?

2. Are you installing on the entire hard drive or SSD and removing previous installations?

3. What are the laptop specifications, e.g. RAM, graphics card, CPU etc.?

4. Have you done a checksum on the ISO image to make sure it is not corrupted?

5. Have you tried anything other than Rufus, for example UNetbootin?

Thanks.
