Hi,

This is my first time using plasma desktop. I have Ubuntu 14.04. All look nice and good;)
Except I cannot use my desktop like I used to. I would like to have links of frequently used apps, or documents.
How do I do it? Smt to do with widgets?

TIA
Nikos

Hello , 14.04 will reach end of life in April, I suggest installing Kubuntu 18.04 .

It is still supported, isn't it?
I'm not interested in Kubuntu.
Please stick to the question...

14.04 is supported for a month at which time you'll have to upgrade or install a supported version. The Plasma DE is KDE and available with Kubuntu. The first link is dated.Check about system in Plasma to find out if you are already using the Kubuntu DE.

Searched the web. To configure Plasma desktop as a folder, u need to right click the background and change desktop from default desktop to folder type:)
Problem solved.

@Frogs: This is a frozen development PC. I cannot upgrade nor change it to Kubuntu. I have even stopped updating it.
It is necessary for my work. I hope i don't hear about upgrades or changes any more :(
