ssh keeps timing out

I have been accessing my vps all day. the domain is resolving globally according to https://dnschecker.org
All of the sudden, I keep timing out on the laptop trying to connect to the vps. Anyone have any tips to get going again?
I have tried connecting as root and as user, both with the ip and domain name,but the timeouts are making my efforts useless.

If the issue is with the VPS, use the console access to figure out the issue.

If the issue is with your local computer and local network, then solve that. My money is on this being a local issue.
