Is there a Clipboard with Ubuntu?

I know Windows has it but never used it.

Recently made an online oder and got this message: "Tap the “Copy” button to copy the order information to your clipboard. The order status can be tracked using this information."

Did Tap the Copy but have no idea where clipboard is, or if clipboard even exists?

Hello cybrsaylr,

clipboard stores copied data that you can then paste in to a document for later reference.

There is also this clipboard manager that can be used to keep a history of the clipboard.
https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/04/gnome-shell-clipboard-manager-extension

It is a Gnome Extension located here https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/779/clipboard-indicator/

Yes, the clipboard exists. It's a buffer to temporarily store things. In text editors or the file manager or wherever, Ctrl-C (copy) will copy things to the clipboard, Ctrl-X (cut) will move things to the clipboard, and Ctrl-V (paste) will copy things from the clipboard. In the Terminal it's almost the same, except that you also need to use Shift, since those other shortcuts are used for other things. KDE comes with a utility to view the contents of the clipboard without having to paste them anywhere.

There is a separate buffer that gets filled by simply highlighting text. Pressing middle-click on the mouse will copy the contents of that buffer to whatever you middle-clicked on.

Thanks folks, will have to look into it. As I said I never used clipboard in the past on either Windows or Linux.

Did discover the file noted in the OP was stored in; Document Viewer > Recent Documents, along with a few others that appeared to have been stored in the past. Never knew they were there.
