I'm trying to install Ubuntu 18.04.1 server from a USB stick and it fails with errors like chroot: failed to run command 'lsb_release": No such file or directory.
I reported this on launchpad 3 months ago but it looks like no one has touched it. Any ideas how to workaround this? I don't have a CD drive. I'm unable to save the full log file because when I try Ctrl-Alt-F1 it says "authentication failure".
