Hi all,

I have an ubuntu 14.04 installation acting as a gateway/firewall/vpn server for a lot of users and around 20 VLAN's an A LOT of iptable rules.
I'm very concerned about the upgrade, as I'm pretty sure the naming convention of NIC's is changing from 14.04 to 16.06. So my questions are:

1. Is there any way to preserve my current NIC naming scheme when doing the upgrade?
2. If not, how can i mitigate network issues in the upgrade process (the server is headless, and the only gateway to the entire environment)

I am planning to use the do-release-upgrade utility to do the upgrade.

Best regards, Kasper
