View Full Version : [SOLVED] 18.04: Install RELEASE icon visible in launcher after install?

I have just freshly installed 18.04, and top left of my screen in the launcher panel there is a disk drive icon with a green arrow over it visible, the tooltip for which reads 'Install RELEASE'.

Please note, following ManualFullSystemEncryption (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ManualFullSystemEncryption) verbatim, I have installed LVM over LUKS. Yesterday I followed the same guide, but installed 18.10, and experienced the same issue. At the time I put this down to the guide being untested and unintended for 18.10. After reading a post online, I removed this with:

sudo apt-get remove ubiquity

This time, before I start to correct this, I want to ask if this is the best option, and if there is anything else I should check on?

Please note, I am also experiencing this issue: 18.04: 'Command 'gparted' not found... gparted is already the newest version' (https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2409234)
