I'm afraid I can't defeat him!

Did you follow the suggestions in the original thread? That was from 2008 and I would be quite surprised if anything there did anything more than cause further problems.

What release of Ubuntu are you using? What are your hardware specs? What have you done and what behavior have you observed?

Please don't say "It didn't work". That gives us nothing to work from. Did you do anything in the terminal? What exact commands did you issue? What were the exact results?

from the beginning, the repository is not working, I downloaded from another place psplinuxv2_0.bin (hopefully that's it) and tried to install it
