I'm running 18.04 on a Dell M4300. I'm using the gnome-session-flashback manager. If I alt+right click on the top panel I get a drop-down menu with different items, one of them is "Add to Panel", clicking on that a windows pops up with different items, one of them is a character map. Clicking on that and later pressing "Add" doesn't seem to work, I don't see the character map. I've done the same thing on other machines without problems. The interesting thing is that something seems to be on the panel because if I blindly slide the cursor on the panel and press alt+right click on different positions at one point I get the offer to either "remove from panel" or "move". Choosing "remove" appears that is removing something since that offer doesn't occur anymore. I was wondering if anybody has seen this and perhaps can offer a solution.

Thanks in advance.
