The kmserver crash on logout is a persistent bug that stretches way back to 2008.
On my Kubuntu 18.04 system it is caused by pulseaudio.
To stop it happening, just disable in System Settings > Notifications > Event Source=Plasma Workspace > Logout > disable sounds.
I thought I'd post it here as multiple searches turn up no real cure-all for this bug.
