Hi,

i am currently looking into Lubuntu for my old asus netbook. On my Desktop i am using Kubuntu.

In an article i saw that for ubuntu 18.04 there is a minimal installation option (https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2018/02/ubuntu-18-04-minimal-install-option) (i don't mean the minimal iso - an option with less packages preinstalled).

For Lubuntu 18.04 i found a bug (https://ubuntuforums.org/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=333) relating the option. For 18.10 i could not find any info.
Also i could not find the option when i try to install Lubuntu 18.10

Does anyone know if there is a minimal installation option available for Lubuntu 18.10? And if so where to find it (appearently i oversaw it then).

Any hint would be great.

I'm not aware of a Lubuntu minimal install iso but there is one for Xubuntu (both 32bit and 64bit):-

thanks for your answer.

I also just found an answer: no - not yet.

On the lubuntu page i stumbled upon details about 18.10:

Calamares

Lubuntu has switched to using the Calamares system installer in place of the Ubiquity installer that other flavors use. Calamares is a universal installer framework that aims to be easy, usable, beautiful, pragmatic, inclusive, and distribution-agnostic.

In this cycle our main focus was working out any issues that arose from the switch in installer, especially around the Ubuntu tooling which is geared towards the use of Ubiquity, so it lacks features such as the minimal install, but in the next cycle we are going to put an emphasis on improving feature parity.

Also on on the Ubuntu help pages (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Documentation/MinimalInstall) you can see a blank for 18.10 - the package lubuntu-core isn't available for this one.
