Hi, im trying to install Lubuntu 18.10 desktop version (32 bits) on a Intel centrino (Pentium M 1.7ghz) laptop. it has w8 on it.

W8 DVD Boot works great, insert and install but when i try it with lubuntu it doesnt work, the pc doesnt recognize it. (My old dv1000 doesnt allow USB boot) so i decided to use Unetbootin to install it.

All ok, but when im installing the OS this error appears:

Installation Failed.

Boost. phyton error in job "unpackfs"

Command `[mount`,/cdrom/casper/filesystem.sqashfs´,´/tmp/tmpqaro51eh/filesystem´, ´-t´,´sqashfs´, ´-o´, ´loop´] returned non-zero exit status 32.
none

i really need to revive this old laptop.. Any help? Sorry for my bad english, im not a native english speaker. thanks.

Did you burn the image to the disk rather than simply putting the .iso file on the disk? (if not, that's what you need to do.)

I don't have any experience with the network install to help you with that part.

at what speed did you burn disc? usually recommended to burn iso's at slower/slowest speed so as not to cause issues. have seen that issue happen before.
