I'm using "Gnome Flashback (Metacity)" under Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, and attempting to get the mouse cursor locator running.
This has worked for me in past releases, including 16.04 LTS: when I hit the Ctrl key, there was "radar ping" that appeared around the cursor.
I've tried both of the following, and neither issues a ping when Ctrl is pressed:
In the gnome-tweaks tab "Keyboard & Mouse" set "Pointer Location" to "ON"
In bash, issued "gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.mouse locate-pointer true"
I've also tried logging out and logging back in; no luck.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
