Installed a fresh install of XUbuntu 18.10 as a VMware Workstation 15.0 guest. Everything was fine until Software Updater updated the system. Next reboot all I get is a black screen.
Tried again with "vanilla" Ubuntu 18.10. Same result.
Tried the following variations:
- No client tools installed
- open-vm-tools-desktop installed
- VM proprietary tools installed
Doesn't seem to matter. As soon as system is updated to latest packages I get a black screen when the system boots. Really don't have a clue where to start.
