18.10 auto login

Fresh install of Ubuntu 18.10 and the auto login is not working.

I am the only user of this machine and I don't like having to log in every time I leave the machine unattended for my blank screen time setting.

I have it toggled to on in the settings and as I say I am the only user listed.

I have looked all over Google for the answer but have found no solution. This function worked in 18.04.

Is this a bug of some sort? Is there a work around? Maybe a command line code?

What are the steps you have followed to set autologin ?

From System Settings -> Details -> Users : there you need first to unlock that screen (click on top right 'unlock'), then you might be able to 'enable' auto login.
On next reboot, if autologin still does work, then glance at 'journalctl -b' to find a related error logged and report on launchpad against gdm3.

I do have the the the setting set to on under my user name.
Where is this launchpad report located?
I don't see any errors here. Maybe you do?
