I have 18.04.1 LTS 64bit installed. When I try to upgrade to 18.10 from the "Software Updater", either nothing happens or it fails and rolls back the attempt.
Can I upgrade my install using the ISO (CD or USB) without losing my programs/settings, or must I figure out why the Update won't work?
UPDATE: Yes. Boot the ISO from DVD or USB and select "Install". Before it installs anything, it will search for existing OS's and give you the option to upgrade. (I never did figure out why the standard "Upgrade" from the "Software Updater" is not working. Plenty of free space.)
