View Full Version : [ubuntu] Change from dual-boot HD to dual-boot HD + Windows SSD without losing Ubuntu data?

My current setup is a 1 Terabyte HD with about 800 GB allocated to Windows 10, and 200 GB for Ubuntu.

My ideal setup is a 1 Terabyte HD with all of it allocated to Ubuntu, and a new SSD (I've got a 256 GB one collecting dust) for Windows.

I'm fine with a clean Windows install as the only thing I use it for is Photoshop CC, but I've got a ton of settings and data on Ubuntu that I would hate to have to set up again (though if necessary I can do so).

What's the best way of making this happen?

And if data deletion is necessary, how should I back up my Ubuntu data beforehand? (I know, I know, I'm one of those terrible people who don't back their PC's up... :-#)
