Install KDE app from Budgie

Hi. I would like to install a KDE app (Kate) from within the Budgie DE. Will I be left with a full working KDE environment? or just the Kate app?

You will not be left with the KDE desktop, but you will drag along with Kate a lot of KDE dependencies, packages and clutter you may not want.

You'll have to evaluate whether Kate is your best option and whether all the chaff is worth it. Unless there is a specific need for Kate, I'd recommend just using a non-KDE text editor.
