Run Mate Tweak, Select Panel, Select Redmond and click on OK.
It install with a panel at the bottom but that panel is totally underpopulated.
Ne menu, no window list, button ... basically nada.
Really hard for a user to do anything short of pressing "ctrl + alt + t" and opening a terminal window.
Later I discovered that I could right click on the bar and add in the missing stuff but it really should be there to begin with.
