Unreachable bottom of screen with docky

Hi,
I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 with gnome, and docky. Whenever I launch Nautilus, I cannot reach the bottom of the window. For example, say I open a nautilus window to browse my files, I cannot select a file which is at the bottom of the window except if I resize it and move it higher in the screen. I dont have this kind of issue with Chrome for example where all the viewport is reachable, however, I have the issue with a terminal, pycharm etc. It is very annoying and it suddenly appears. The solution is to kill docky process, but that's not what I want as I find docky very usefull.
Any idea on how to fix that ?

It's usually a graphics/compositing issue where the invisible window of docky isn't composited.
Can be caused if your window manager is reloading.
I am using xfce and I see this when I switch window managers on the fly.
I need to kill and restart plank.

Handy to have relevant specs.
Install inxi (system information script).
If you don't want the recommended dependencies of hddtemp and lm-sensors...

sudo apt install --no-install-recommends inxi

With recommends

sudo apt install inxi

Then post the output of

inxi -b

PS: If you just require a simple dock/launcher try plank and see how that fares.

My issue occured after my motherboard burned and got replaced.... I did not experienced the issue before that.

I use an old desktop nvidia card which just works and not very clued with laptop graphics
but hopefully this bump will bring it to the attention of those more familiar with your graphics hardware.
