Editing Ubuntu Mate 18.04 Main Menu

Even when I uncheck some menu items, they continue to appear. Is there another way to edit the menus other than by selecting Applications/Accessories/Main Menu?

Perhaps try alacarte.
sudo apt install alacarte Though I have not seen it in action for a long time, it was the default menu editor in gnome2, if I remember correctly, so may be just what you need for Mate.

alacarte was already installed, but the same issues using that editor. Thanks!

Installing mozo solved the issue. It seems better integrated with the Mate environment than alacarte.
