Nothing, no change. also getting, "Failed to download repository information Check your internet connection", from the software updater.

Nothing? Not even an error message?

oldos2er's command was to find more diagnostics, not to fix anything yet, so it's expected that nothing changes.

Look through this thread (https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2399047) and see if your repository list was not updated correctly.

Nothing, no change. also getting, "Failed to download repository information Check your internet connection", from the software updater.

Again, please open a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-t) and run sudo apt update, copy and paste the entire output here.

Have you tried changing to the main server? Are you using a mirror, if so which one? What type of internet connection do you have, wired or wireless?

fall2; Uh Huh ..

Now we are cooking with Crisco :)

the package manager is telling you the truth:

E: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/midori/ppa/ubuntu bionic Release' does not have a Release file.

when we look at the source:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/midori/ppa/ubuntu/dists/
one sees that wily was the last supported release.

Disable this PPA and all will look better,

my bit to try and help

Bashing-om (https://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=1111508) Thanks, that fixed the upgrade issue. I just realized I can no longer download from the old software center I was using, synaptic packet manager loads but fails to open. I found snapcraft and can use that for downloads I need. Thank you all.

fall2; Great .

What means ?

from the old software center

If that refers to an End_Of_Life release then be aware old releases' repositories are moved to "old-releases" and the repository you may expect no longer exists.

things come to an end - one way or the other :)
