It started when I using Lubuntu, had a bunch of windows open and then garbled overlays.
I read that stacking window managers like openbox use painter's algorithm to avoid garbled overlays.
If that's so, why did I experience or under what circumstance will garbled overlays occur with stacked window managers like openbox.
At the same time, although the principles of compositors are very clear, it seems the implementations focus on the non-essential; special effects.
I opened up compton-conf, and the hole thing is special effects. I just want a barebones, low performance impact compositor which I would naturally disable for full screen games/video because the alternative is stupid.
I though perhaps it would make the most sense to say, the hell with the compositor, just refresh all open windows, assign keyboard short cut, plug and play?
Is that possible?
