Hi everyone, now that 18.04 has been out for some time, I wanted to upgrade from my 17.10 installation. However, the update-manager and do-release-upgrade both tell me that no new release exists. I don't know what I can do now. I didn't find anyone with the same issue other than people on 16.04. But they were supposed to just recently get the option at all, whilst 17.10 had it for some time now. Therefore, I'm not sure that it's the same problem. This bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-menus/+bug/1766890) only mentions xenial and bionic as affected, not artful. Anyone got an idea what I could do?

I upgraded from 17.10 to 18.04 in May. Have you checked it's set for upgrades to any new release, not lts only?

17.10 has been dead for several weeks now. That could cause problems too, but on my mirror at least the 17.10 repositories haven't been removed yet, so that should still work. Also see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades

Thanks, that helped. Weird though, because 18.04 IS an LTS release.
The UI seemingly froze on me when resolving configuration conflicts, which made me screw up the first update, but I got through it the 2nd time. It has some... interesting error handling.
