Hello,

I'm a 16.04 user.

"Software Updater" shows me an upgrade to 18.04 LTS only if I set;

in "Software & Updates", Update tab, "Notify me of a new Ubuntu version": "For every new version" (setting "For long-term support versions" does not show any upgrade available).

Is this the correct upgrade to 18.04.1 LTS ?

I ask because the .1 version is not shown (and when I set "For long-term support versions" no upgrade is shown).

Thank you in advance.

Are you using the main servers, or a mirror? I would try waiting a few more days for the upgrade to show.

I'm using the main server.

I think I'm going to try it (I hope the upgrade system is smart enough to choose the .1 version...)

BACK UP EVERYTHING FIRST! Personally, I never had a lot of luck upgrading: I always back up everything and do a clean install.

Apparently the upgrade to the next LTS hasn't been enabled yet. That shouldn't take more than a few days. But it doesn't really matter, as the upgrade to any new release also takes you to 18.04. There's no difference between 18.04 and 18.04.1 as far as upgrades are concerned. The only difference is that the installer for 18.04.1 already includes all patches released in the first three months after the release of 18.04, which you have to download and install separately if you install 18.04. But with an upgrade, you get the latest patches anyway.
