Ubuntu 18.04 after update doesn't boot to desktop.

I run Ubuntu 18.04LTS in my Dell Vostro laptop and after recent update it does not boot to the login prompt but crashes midway and the screen flashes some messages the image of which is given as a link herewith. Is there any way to fix this issue without reinstalling. Any suggestion in this regard would deeply be appreciated as scavenging data using a bootable-device is quite unlikely given the circumstances.
