View Full Version : Ubuntu 18.04 upgrade from 17.10 failure. GNOME Display Manager.collest crash

I was upgrading Ubuntu from 17.10 to 18.04. But the command do-release-upgrade terminated. As of now, system hangs with the message.
Started GNOME Display Manager.collect and submit kernel cras signatures...as shut down...

What brand/model system?
What video card/chip?
Did you have any ppa or proprietary drivers enabled? They need to be uninstalled before upgrade and then reinstalled (if possible).

May be best to see details, you can run from your Ubuntu live installer or any working install, use ppa version not older Boot-Repair ISO:
