Hi all,

Is there an Open Source alternative to IBM Watson AI ?

I have been googling a while and found follows;

Watson (computer)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watson_(computer)

List of artificial intelligence projects
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_artificial_intelligence_projects
Natural language processing
Apache Lucene
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Lucene
Apache OpenNLP
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_OpenNLP

Getting started with machine learning
https://github.com/collections/machine-learning
Apahe Hadoop
http://hadoop.apache.org/

etc.

Please shed me some light. Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about Watson AI per-say, from my understanding this is being developed more for AI in big enterprise (but could be wrong). There is Mycroft which claims to be AI and does quiet a bit on both the software and hardware side of things.

I think the big problem with AI being open source is the issues with the open source philosophy. Not that it is bad, but in order for a machine or software to demonstrate that it has artificial intelligence you have to feed it data to work with. In order to have data you have to collect it from somewhere. I am one that has no problems giving away my data to ethical companies especially if it is for the greater good but, I know a lot of people appose it at all cost.

Hi,

Look at following video;

IBM Watson | Full Q&A | Oxford Union

IBM Client Center Ehningen - Can robots understand what they see?

AI is an interesting project.

A folk on another forum suggested me turning to;

Machine Learning on AWS
https://aws.amazon.com/machine-learning/

Yes, when I have time I'll screw into it.

Thanks
