Windows 10 recently released an update (april 2018 big update) that needs to be installed using an helper (it doesn't update automatically like others updates).
I have an laptop with dual boot using Ubuntu and Windows 10 and The Ubuntu boot manager.
I have downloaded The update and restarted The laptop. After choosing to boot on Windows to conclude The instalation, The screen freezes on the boot manager like this https://ibb.co/c7MwbT .https://image.ibb.co/ndLBAo/15272003980911652202559.jpg
I tried to shut down and restart again, this time Windows started The recovery and didnt install The updates.
This happens everytime that i try to install this update.

It is possible but highly unlikely that you will get help here with your problem on the windows operating system and its update. Try the microsoft support site or a windows forum Also check back here, you might get luck and someone might have a suggestion for you.

It would seem to be a graphics driver problem which would not be surprising if an update failed to complete. Once you select windows from the Grub boot menu, you are no longer using Grub/Ubuntu but are on windows. I think you would be better off at a windows forum since the apparent primary cause is the failed windows update.

I had this problem a few months ago I changed the RAM, and my computer now works without problems
