When I want to install a program of any kind, such as Pinta, or Steam; i type on my terminal

sudo apt-get install pinta and following this just a bunch of unmet dependencies I have not been able to fix. I have tried many commands from other forums but nothing seems to be working.

I am currently running Ubuntu 17.04

Hello!

17.04 has passed its EOL (End Of Life). It is no longer supported and its repositories have been moved. You won't be able to update from them easily.

An EOL upgrade is not terribly likely to end in success without some issues. I would suggest that you back up you important files and re-install a supported version, an LTS would be best, which would be 16.04 or 18.04.

Cheers!
