How to place windows in 17.10?

Hello, in previous versions of Ubuntu I used CompizConfig Settings Manager's Place Windows option to set the default start location for programs. As CCSM no longer works in 17.10, how can I set default X and Y coordinates?

This is best solution I've found so far but still doesn't work quite as well as CCSM used to in earlier versions: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/39/put-windows/ Many thanks to the developers.
