View Full Version : Upgrade Progress????

I started my 18.04 Upgrade process about 1-1/2 hours ago and all I'm seeing is a big red screen with Time and Date on it.
Is there some way I can monitor progress?
How can one know that anything is actually happening?

How did you initiate the upgrade ? In the terminal there are specific stages including sources and package download , unpacking, and setup though there are packages setup as needed during the process. From the update manger GUI the steps are indicated the same way including the the cleanup phase at the end. The GUI has a arrow marked details which shows terminal activity. Don't use the computer during upgrade because it may freeze the process.

There WAS a gui, albeit briefly, but now nothing but date & time.
Wondering...

It is possible the process crashed from from the start. Do you notice any cpu/fan activity as if a process is running?
