Hi,

I have a problem. I recently installed ubuntu alongside vista and it goes into low graphics mode. The solutions i have found online tell me to go into a terminal by doing ctrl alt f1. I can not do f1 but f4, the only two that work are f7 (GUI that is crashing immediately) and f4 that looks like this:
279608279609

I have no idea what to do. The text is illegible, I can't do anything with this. I can not get a new computer, I have to fix this one. Thought it had something to do with nvidia drivers or something but I don't know. Hard to figure out whenever the computer operates like this. That is not just a crappy picture, the text actually looks like that. What's going on? I can't wipe this hard drive and start over until I get important files off of it, the vista installation crashed. Whenever I installed this system, i had to use nomodeset for the installation because the GUI would also crash on the live usb.

please help, thanks in advance

"Ctrl Alt Fn" only works with opened session :(
