I'm installing Kubuntu 14.04 over an older installation on the same partition. Everyting is fine until the installer reaches 93% at Restoring previously installed packages, it stalls for a few minutes then tells me it could not finish and I would have to reinstall some pakages on my own. I don't mind that, but then the installer crashes instead of finishing. Just to make sure I had tried three times and the exact thing happened each time. One thing to note is that I have moved my home directory to a separate partition, I followed specific instructions for this and read that this would not cause a problem so long as my user name and password on the new install mached exactly to what I had used previously. Any help at all would be appreciated.
