I am running Ubuntu MATE 17.10 and decided to do a fresh install of Ubuntu MATE 18.04. Clicked on the install option and then clicked on English for my language. In the next option i selected the UK keyboard option and then typed out text to make sure that i had selected the correct option. But no matter what i typed only 'American' characters appeared. Ater repeated attempts i give up and went back to using Ubuntu MATE 17.10. Has anyone else had this problem? and if so how do you rectify it please.
