I'm toward the end of an installation of 17.10 on an older computer, and I need to install the bootloader onto a floppy disk, which it says it can do. So I specify /dev/fd0, but it keeps failing, and I've tried several disks. How can I do this?
Thanks in advance

Have you considered chainloading from Plop?
Installation/FromUSBStick#PLoP_Boot_Manager (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick#PLoP_Boot_Manager)

Sorry for the late reply. No, I haven't. I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestion.
