I am having great trouble with 17.04, partly, I think, becaauae I did an

# apt install upgrade

For this reason, firefox is giving me fits in signing in. Can anybody help me back-grade from 17.10 to 17.04 and get me signed in to firefox?

TIA!

Hello!

There is no downgrade path short of a re-installation. That would do you little good, since 17.04 is no longer supported. Ridding yourself of a cockroach by blasting off and nuking the planet from orbit is a bit excessive.

Might you be interested in getting some help solving the particular issue instead?

Why do you say that 17.04 is no longer supported when it is label as LTS?? I'm looking to install the latest Firefox. Every time I mess with that, some things break.

I'll try again. Thanks.

16.04 is the LTS.

There is no downgrade.
Part of reason why I have two / (root) partitions. But my 14.04 / is now 18.04 even though not yet released, but just to test & experiment.
My main working install of 16.04 has been stable enough that I have not had to boot 14.04 for years.
