Hello,

I have an Asus ROG GL553VE system having Intel core i7 7700HQ and nVidia GTX 1050ti. I have windows 10 home installed. Recently I tried dual booting ubuntu and windows 10. First,I was stuck on the dots loading screen.I got past that by adding acpi=off in the line containing quiet splash. Installation was successful and it asked me to reboot. After that I was asked to remove the installation media and press enter.I installed it from a DVD so I removed it and pressed enter. I got stuck there so I forced shutdown the computer and now I can see the GRUB but whenever I select ubuntu for booting,it either gets stuck on a black screen or a pink one.

Extra Info if it helps
I created swap area of 12,288MB from the free space of 40,960MB ( I was told to create a swap memory 1.5 times the amount of RAM I had) and rest of the free space was for used for root ('/')
Skipped downloading updates at the time of Installation.

Any help on the topic will be greatly appretiated.
