View Full Version : [ubuntu] Pointer stuck in grabbing mode and won't click on desktop after dragging files 17.10

I just installed 17.10. When dragging files from the desktop to a window or folder the pointer sticks in the grabbing hand mode. After this I can't click on the desktop. The problem then persists in the Chrome and Chromium web browsers - the pointer continues to be the grabbing hand and I can't click anything in the browsers, but I can still tab and type. The pointer works normally on the favorites bar and activities bar, so I can still launch apps and log out and stuff. Logging out and logging back in fixes the problem.

Anyone have any ideas or a process I can restart to fix it without logging out?

Killing nautilus fixed the pointer everywhere, but now I don't have a desktop. I can live with not having a desktop, but anyone have a better solution?
