View Full Version : Unable to use keyboard in "Activities" or "Show Applications"

All of a sudden, I can no longer enter text in the "activities" or "Show Applications" portions of gnome. My keyboard works fine, and I can hit the super key to bring up the "Activities". I hit the first character and it selects the text field, but nothing else happens. I can't escape to get out of it, either. I have to click out of it. The keyboard works fine too. Same thing after a reboot. Running 17.10.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello and Welcome

Are you using the default shell theme or running any extensions that may change the themes behavior ?

Thank you for your reply!

I am running the default theme. The only extensions I'm running is a weather menu bar extension.

Is the activities overview enabled in the top bar section of the Tweak Tool ?

I went into my Gnome extensions and removed everything I wasn't using. The only ones that were on is a weather one and a desktop photos one and the two Ubuntu ones. After that it started working again. Thank you for your reply--I was pleasantly surprised to see a response to such a simple question.
