Hi,

I'm running Ubuntu 17.10 which is not using Unity. It's running whatever the default environment is, which I think is Gnome.

I installed KDE and tried it out but I did not like it so I decided to uninstall it along with all of its dependencies.
When I logged back in to the default Ubuntu Desktop Environment, my mouse cursor was still the same as KDE.

I installed gnome-tweak-tool and with a little playing around I got my cursor working again, however I changed something else: the minimize, maximise and close buttons.
They now look ugly and bulky where as before they looked smooth and nice.

This is what they look like: https://imgur.com/a/I760U

How can I get this back to normal?

First thing i would do is google how to 'completely remove KDE from ubuntu'. Then after you do that, you can assume kde changed some configs that ubuntu's window manager was also using.

Try pulling up your window manager and look around in those settings, theres a program i have on mine called 'window manager', and also theres the 'appearance' program, sometimes ticking/unticking a box will bring it back to normal. Sometimes takes a reboot after that. Understand im no pro, these are just things ive done in the past to fix very similar problems. Try changing the theme in 'appearance', and then changing it back, or just stick with a different theme if you like it.

Not saying its the best advice, but thats what i would do if i was in your shoes.
