Fresh install of 17.04 desktop to HP Pavillion HPE AMD with linux mint preinstalled

Hello Linux Fans

I have about to install 17.04 on a desktop computer. Is 17.04 OK to go? Also Since I have Linux mint preinstalled I would like an installation without GRUB. Is this possible? Also I am unsure of 17.04 is the way to go since I am looking for Ubuntu with Gnome desktop.Thanks.

17.04 is no longer supported as of now, you might want to install one of the supported version of Ubuntu, here is the release list you can bookmark for future reference https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS is the best option if you want it

I also would suggest sticking with a LTS version of Ubuntu unless you like installing a new system every few months
