View Full Version : Question out of Curiosity...

Hello Ubuntu Community!

I have a quick question out of curiosity. After playing around with Ubuntu, Mint, MX Linux, Mageia, and a few other distros I've discovered that some distributions save changes to the live environment.
That made me start wondering: how exactly does the Ubuntu Ubiquity Installer work? Does it download the live environment and save it as an operating system on the hard disk, or does it pull all of the files from the internet or what?
Also, say I make an iso snapshot of Ubuntu running live. If I then install my snapshot, a customized version of Ubuntu, can I also install my customizations to disk?

Thanks!
