upgraded to Ubuntu 17.10 from Ubuntu 16.04.03 Keyboard and mouse don't work

Hello;

I have upgraded to Ubuntu 17.10. The keyboard and mouse don't work after the desktop is loaded. The Keyboard and mouse work when I boot into safe mode. Can someone point me in the right direction. I am running a Dell Precision T3600 wiith a 6 core Intel Xenon.

If keyboard and mouse are USB devices, unplug them when booting. Otherwise do a clean install of 17.10. I had similar experiences on a Dell Inspiron 1525. Ceased to exist after a new installation of 17.10-
