One thing I'm not enjoying about 17.10 is how dark the top bar is. I installed the Gnome Tweak Tool and switched to the Radiance theme. That's got my windows not being so dark but, I'd really like to configure the top bar to be much lighter. Anyone out there know how to change it?

To change the appearance of the top bar, you need to install and apply a shell theme. Before you can do that, however, you need to install and activate the "User themes" extension. When that extension is active, the dropdown next to "Shell" will allow you select a shell theme if any is installed.
