View Full Version : Xubuntu + i3, possible while preserving xfce's task bar and zoom?

I use Xubuntu on a daily basis, and find it a great mix of speed and accessibility--I'm a heavy user of the zoom function (alt+mousewheel).

I also like i3, but have never gotten the two to work together without issues. I recently followed this tutorial (http://feeblenerd.blogspot.com/2015/11/pretty-i3-with-xfce.html,) and did get something functioning. But, zoom doesn't work. I suspect this is because one of the programs I turned off was responsible for its function, but I don't know how to proceed with fixing it.

The other issue is that the taskbar displays every open application on the first desktop with nothing in the others, even if there are indeed open applications there. Not even sure where to start there.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Try enabling 'Show windows from all workspaces' in Filtering
