I'm testing the daily build of Ubuntu 17.10 which is due for release in a few days.

Has anyone figured out how to get KDE applications to look native (like other GTK+ applications) on Ubuntu 17.10 (using Gnome Shell)?

With the previous release, I used to use qt5ct, as outlined here (http://www.webupd8.org/2015/11/configure-qt5-application-style-icons.html) but there are dependency problems for artful. Also, I suspect there may be a better way to get KDE applications to look native.

Sure. Use a KDE-based distribution like Kubuntu.

Ha ha!...
Then I have the problem of making Gnome applications look native on KDE!
On KDE, I can get it pretty close, but I still get a white border around GTK+ windows that have CSDs.
